The Bavarians are truly versitile breed capable of doing many different tasks demanded from their owners, such as big and small game hunting, tracking, search and rescue, finding shed antlers, great and friendly home companions and the breed that deserves a closer look by the future dog owners.

The Bavarian Bloodhound of Arizona Kennel was established in August of 2004. The purchase and arrival of a pair of unrelated, fully pedigreed and trained male Bavarian called Marcus, Vatrova and female called Elza, Dravecka Dolina. The pair arrived from Zagreb, Croatia and were picked up at the Los Angeles International Airport.

Both dogs were purchased in the Bratislava, Slovakia from the well known breeder, trainer and veterinarian Mrs. Ivanka Novakova.

Just a year later Mrs. Ivanka Novakova was instrumental that we acquired supreme specimen of a 2 year old female called Fira, Dravecka Dolina.

The Bavarian Bloodhound of Arizona Kennel is now in position to provide best puppies of this breed, will provide the assistance and support to new customers and dog owners.

We work in cooperation with Blakenburg Kennel in Arizona. They can be reached via our link page and they can provide additional support and assistance with any questions that one may have regarding this breed. Our puppies trained by Gene and Ute are 100% guaranteed that they will do the tracking and find your lost big game.

One should note from the beginning that the Bavarian Bloodhounds as a breed are very loyal and intelligent dogs, non aggressive, family, especially children oriented animals and can make a great family pets.

However, as with any pure breed, outdoor active, hunting or working breed, they need the larger yard where they can maintain they natural activity, and burn of excess energy. We also recomment outside kennels for daily leisure time, except during extremely cold weather.

Some puppies from our stock are more deemed to be as house pets than the other, and our goal is to match the right puppy with the right new owner.

We shall always disclose the truth and nothing but the truth about each individual puppy and what we observed with that pup from birth.

The Bavarian Bloodhounds are truly Royal dogs, developed in Southern Germany (Bavaria) for their aristocracy close to 360 years ago (earliest record point to year 1547 as a development year), by cross breeding German shorthair pointer, Dachshund and Plot (Hanover) bloodhound.

Thus, if one treats them royally, they will respond in kind and be the best friend and hunting partner that you ever had.

However, USA introduction is very new, first american born litter is only 1-1/2 years old.
